Proper care and maintenance are essential to preserve the beauty and longevity of your jewellery. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure that your favourite pieces remain radiant for years to come.

  • Last on, first off: always put on your jewellery last to avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics and hairsprays. When undressing, take off your jewellery first.
  • Avoid exposing your jewellery to chemicals, particularly chlorine. Quickly rinse it with water if contact occurs. Please refrain from wearing your jewellery while swimming, bathing, using saunas, or showering.
  • If you engage in any activity that might scratch or damage your jewellery, take it off prior.
  • You should remove your pearl jewellery before engaging in sports or exercise to avoid risk of breakage.
  • Wear your pearls and silver frequently. Pearls benefit from the moisture from the body.
  • Rotate your jewellery pieces regularly to ensure even wear and prevent any one piece from being overly used.

  • Always store your jewellery pieces individually so that they do not rub together, scratch or tangle.
  • Keep your jewellery clean and dry.
  • Your jewellery should be kept in a dark, cool and dry place with a consistent temperature, away from humidity. Avoid storing your jewellery in the bathroom.
  • Store silver jewellery in airtight bag/box to keep out the air that causes oxidation.

Sterling Silver

Gently rub and polish your sterling silver jewellery using a soft cloth or microfiber cloth. For a deep clean, use a soft cloth with mild soapy water and pat dry. If soap does not do the trick, mix water with baking soda to create a paste. Apply a small amount to a clean cloth and use it to polish the silver. Rinse the item under warm water and dry it with a clean cloth. This method can restore its shine, making it look like new again.

Gently rub and polish your gold vermeil jewellery using a non-abrasive cloth or microfiber cloth. To deep clean your vermeil jewellery, use very mild soap with lukewarm water. Rinse it with clean water and pat dry gently. Vermeil jewellery rarely tarnishes, but if it does due to exposure to moisture or certain chemicals, it may develop dark spots. Easily remove these spots by gently rubbing with a soft, clean cloth.

After every wear, carefully wipe your pearls with a soft cloth. When needed, mix very gentle soap with lukewarm water and gently wipe pearls with a soft cloth dampened in the solution. Let them dry before storing.

Carefully wipe the piece with a damp cloth after you wear it. It is also safe to use warm water with a very delicate cleanser, but make sure to dry it thoroughly after cleaning.

FAQ

How often should I clean my jewellery?

Regular cleaning helps maintain the beauty of your jewellery. For everyday wear, clean your pieces every few weeks. If your jewellery has been exposed to lotions or perfumes, you may need to clean it more frequently – ideally after each use.

We recommend removing your jewellery before exercising or swimming. Sweat, chlorine and saltwater can tarnish, discolour or damage your jewellery.

To keep your silver jewellery looking pristine, store it in an airtight container when not in use. Avoid exposure to moisture and harsh chemicals, and clean it regularly to remove any buildup.

You can try several at-home methods to remove tarnish. Soak your jewellery in warm, soapy water, then scrub it gently with a soft toothbrush. Rinse and dry with a cloth. Alternatively, gently rub with a silver polishing cloth or use a paste made from 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water. The aluminium foil method with baking soda and salt is also effective. Avoid harsh chemicals and for heavily oxidised pieces, consider professional cleaning.

If your jewellery gets wet, delicately pat it dry. For pieces exposed to water frequently (like swimming or washing hands), we recommend removing them to avoid damage or tarnishing.

If your pearl jewellery gets wet, gently pat it dry with an absorbent cloth to remove any trapped water. Allow the pearls to air dry completely in a safe, dry location. Avoid rubbing vigorously as this can scratch the surface.

We recommend removing your jewellery before sleeping to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. Sleeping in jewellery can cause tangling, bending or even breakage.

Gently work the knot apart with your fingers or use tweezers to carefully separate the chains. You can also apply a small amount of baby oil to help loosen the knot. Avoid using excessive force as this can cause breakage.
